Estimates, for the 2026 tax year
Every calculator on calc-hq.ca produces an estimate for the 2026 tax year, using published federal, provincial, and territorial figures. It models a typical case — employment or self-employment income, standard credits and contributions. It does not know your full picture: other income, deductions, credits you qualify for, or anything specific to your circumstances. Treat the result as a well-sourced ballpark, not a final number.

Verify with the authorities before you act
Before you make a decision or file anything, confirm the figures against the bodies that actually administer them:
- the Canada Revenue Agency (canada.ca) for federal tax, CPP, EI, and benefits;
- Revenu Québec (revenuquebec.ca) if you live or work in Quebec;
- Service Canada for EI, CPP, and related benefit claims.
Where an official figure and a number on this site ever disagree, the official source is right.

None of the above means the figures are casual — the opposite. Every tax constant on this site is verified against the primary government source that publishes it and re-audited on a maintenance schedule, so the rates and thresholds stay current rather than drifting year to year.
